25 years ago this September, Houston Swim Club, which was once Phill Hansel Swim Academy (founded in 1961), was purchased by Bonnie Howe. It is because of her hard work, dedication, and passion for helping others that we have grown to be the organization we are today. The family owned business that began with just 1 location and only 4 employees in 1994 has grown to a swim school with 5 locations with over 150 employees.
We have remodeled our facilities, changed our class level names, and changed in a number of other areas along the way, but the best part of it all is that we have continued to show our passion for teaching the same lifesaving skills that were part of the curriculum developed so long ago.
This family business that began in a small neighborhood in Sharpstown all those years ago is doing great things in the Greater Houston community. And we couldn’t be more proud. We thank Bonnie for all she has done and all she continues to do. She has built a great legacy at Houston Swim Club and we are all so very thankful to be a part of it.
To celebrate, we treated our staff to some special lunches last week, and we would like to thank Pappasito's Cantina, Foreign Policy Food Truck and @doughremipizzaria for coming out to help us for the occasion!
