Judah's Legacy

 The Judah Brown Project helps spread awareness of water safety and the reality of drownings in Texas.

July 3, 2018, Tuesday, Houston Chronicle featured the Judah Brown Project, a foundation dedicated to preventing drowning in Texas.

The Judah Brown Project, which aims to teach swimming safety and provide funding for swimming lessons, provides swim lesson scholarships for families in need. The Judah Brown Project was founded after Judah Brown, age 3, died in a drowning accident at an apartment pool two years ago.

From the article: "Most children drown in backyard swimming pools, but it can happen in any body of water with enough density to cover the mouth and nose. That includes apartment swimming pools, lakes, rivers, oceans, ponds, bathtubs, septic tanks — even buckets.

"Drowning is persistent in Houston and across the nation. It’s the number one cause of death in children, ages 1 to 4, aside from birth defects, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

"It’s almost literally a silent killer, and it takes just seconds."
