Meet Mathias

Mathias learned to swim in our program and as soon as he was old enough to apply we hired him on the spot.

Mathias learned to swim in our program and as soon as he was old enough to apply, we hired him on the spot.

A majority of our lifeguards and instructors are homegrown kiddos who took lessons with us or swam on our swim team. He's been guarding for 2+ years. His favorite part of the job is working with the kids and making a difference. It definitely helps having someone who knows the workings of our company from both sides!

Mathias is smart, funny and very professional. He will be attending Texas A&M in the fall so we'll only have him a little while longer before he starts off on his new journey. He can also rest assured that if he needs a summer job over the next 4 years, he's got one!

"One of my first days here I was stressed, trying to learn the ropes and be as helpful as possible. One of the instructors said they needed a left-handed barbell. So I went and looked for something that would stand out as a left-handed barbell. All the teachers watched me search and played along. They soon broke the news to me that the barbells work with both right and left handed kids. I was just like oh, duh. It was hilarious and I definitely chilled out after that." -Mathias
