Houston Swim Club knows that every child is different, so we strive to make their swim lessons the best possible for them! Going above and beyond for our parents and students is our top priority! A parent recently sent us this letter in regards to a concern she had with her swimming class, and we wanted to share her experience with you.
Dear Houston Swim Club,
My 4-year-old daughter is new to HSC [Houston Swim Club] but has been taking lessons since she was a baby (private lessons for the past two years) at our club. We moved to HSC based on the recommendation of several friends and our understanding of the approach to swim instruction at HSC (especially the goals and objectives outlined at each level). After our initial two week session, I called HSC to share my concerns that our daughter was not being challenged as a Goldfish and was impressed with the response...
I spoke with Cady on the phone and voiced my concerns. She promised that my daughter would be evaluated in the pool that afternoon during her regularly scheduled swim lesson and that she, personally, would ensure that happened. Cady was true to her word and not only made sure another instructor took a few minutes to perform the evaluation, but she took time to say hello to my daughter. I greatly appreciate Cady's courtesy, professionalism, and follow through. I also admire the way that she just didn't take my word for it and set about finding a way to accurately assess my daughter's strengths and weaknesses so she could be challenged appropriately.
Lizzie was the instructor who took time during a busy swim day to evaluate my daughter. She quickly identified my child's areas of need and gave direction to her new swim coach. I appreciate Lizzie's time and expertise. Her efforts have greatly benefited my daughter.
Jeremiah has been swimming with my daughter for the past few weeks and, upon Lizzie's direction, immediately adjusted his approach and has been appropriately challenging my daughter ever since. I realize that the other student in her semi-private lesson is at a different level, and I greatly appreciate Coach Jeremiah's willingness to be flexible and differentiate instruction for my child. She loves swimming lessons at HSC because she is appropriately challenged and is expected to meet high expectations.
Thank you all for putting a plan in progress that will ensure my daughter's continued improvement as a swimmer!
Sincerely yours,
Courtney C.
