Health and Safety at HSC

We're OPEN with some important changes!

We're OPEN with some important changes!
May 19, 2020

Following the guidelines of local, state and federal officials, we are happy to announce that HSC is open!

We are excited to get back to doing what we love to do and seeing your smiling faces again! We have been hard at work to provide a CLEAN AND HEALTHY EXPERIENCE FOR OUR STUDENTS, OUR PARENTS, AND OUR TEAM MEMBERS when we return.

We want to ensure you that you will receive the HSC experience you love.

hcs-masksThere will be many things that WILL NOT CHANGE:
  • Our passion for making children safeR in and around water!
  • Our proven curriculum!
  • Nurturing, loving, and dedicated HSC Team Members!
  • Professional swim lessons in chlorinated and UV protected water! CDC Water FAQs
  • A commitment to reducing drowning statistics in the Houston area!
There are things that WILL CHANGE:
  • Temporarily providing 20-minute private swim lessons in lieu of group lessons to our students with no price increase over the group lesson cost
  • Reduction of the number of people in our facility
  • Reduction of the number of people in our pools
  • Non-Contact temperature checks of everyone that enters the building
  • Hands will be sanitized upon entrance of the facility
  • Masks to be worn by “dry” staff inside the facility
  • Face shields to be worn by instructors during lessons
  • Showers will remain closed
  • Cleaning of all swim lesson equipment between each use
  • Frequent cleaning of all contact areas within our facility

Providing 20-minute PRIVATE SWIM LESSONS in lieu of group lessons to our students will not only decrease the number of swimmers in the pool at one time but will also help students quickly recover the skills they’ve been missing during the time away.

Don’t worry, the fees for these private lessons will remain the same as our current group lessons during this unprecedented time. Please know that when appropriate, we do plan to resume our group classes.

hsc-temperature-checksWe kindly request the following of our HSC families:
  • Call and report an absence if anyone in your family shows symptoms of any illness. We will gladly schedule a free make-up at a later date when we resume "group classes"
  • Follow guidelines for frequent hand washing, hand sanitizing and social distancing CDC Guidelines
  • Only 1 caregiver per family attend lessons
  • Students come dressed and ready for class
  • Students leave in their swimsuit and towel, limited changing areas available
  • Students bring their own goggles, if desired
  • Requesting face masks be worn inside HSC 10 years of age or older
  • Arrive no more than 5 minutes prior to your lesson
  • Wait to schedule make-up lessons when we resume “Group Classes”
  • If you wish to begin lessons in June, please wait until May 25 to request classes
