Year round swim lessons are a game changer
Yes that’s an actual photo of our Pearland location covered in snow! In Houston, the weather can be wild, right? One day it’s hot and sunny, the next day it’s stormy, chilly, or way too humid to even think about being outside. But guess what? Swim lessons don’t have to stop just because the weather changes.
(ok, it does stop for hurricanes and that big snow storm in the photo!)
Anyway, that’s why our year-round indoor swim lessons are so awesome. Indoor, heated pools help swimmers keep learning, keep practicing, and keep building confidence no matter what is happening outside.
Indoor swim lessons keep kids happy
Warm water makes a BIG difference, especially for little swimmers. Indoor, heated pools help children focus on learning instead of worrying about cold water, wind, rain, or chilly winter weather. Our hair dryers, suit dryers, showers and changing rooms help, too. No need to run out to the car in a wet swimsuit! We even stock umbrellas at the front door.
This means that YOU mom and dad, don’t have to keep checking the forecast before every lesson. How great is that?
Btw, if you’re looking for outdoor competitive pool experiences, we’ve got that too at our Sharpstown location!
Year-round swimming helps prevent skill loss
Soooo, here’s the big one. When kids stop swimming after summer, they can lose some of the skills and confidence they worked so hard to build.
Swimming is like any other skill. The more consistently you practice, the stronger you become. Consistent swim lessons help children keep their water safety skills fresh, continue improving their abilities, and stay confident in the water long before summer comes back around.
That means when pool season arrives again, your swimmer isn’t starting over. They are ready to keep moving forward!
Off season lessons can mean smaller class sizes
Off season swim lessons (ala not the hectic summer) can also be a great time to learn because classes are often smaller. That can give swimmers more chances to practice, more attention from their instructor, and more confidence as they build each skill.
For children who are nervous, just getting started, or working on a specific goal, a smaller class setting can be a wonderful way to make progress.
Keep swimming all year long
Indoor swim lessons are not just for summertime. They’re a smart way to help kids stay safer, stronger, and more confident around water all year long.
Rain, cold weather, Houston heat, surprise (mild) storms, or winter months, your swimmer can keep practicing in a warm, indoor pool and be ready when summer comes back around.
We would love to have your family swim with us at Houston Swim Club, but most of all, I hope you keep swimming, keep learning, and keep those water safety skills strong all year long!
See you in the pool soon!
